Nice scores, Josh Raynolds reviews - Gypsy Canyon

Just released: Josh Reynolds, Vinous Media reviews.  I am especially excited about Ground Boots, our new philanthropic label. The very first release scored 90 points!  It is truly a wine you will love for causes you love. Trois, introduced in our Earth Bottle, received 91 points and The Collector's Pinot received 92 points. Thank you Josh, I appreciate you taking the time to taste through the wines and sharing your expertise!

2012 Gypsy Canyon Ground Boots Pinot Noir

Santa Barbara County 90pts

(made by Gypsy Canyon Winery as a charitable project for animal welfare in southeast Asia): Bright red. Spicy cherry and raspberry aromas are complicated by suggestions of minerals and fresh flowers. Fresh and racy on the palate, offering juicy red and dark fruit flavors and a late jolt of licorice. A lively, sharply focused pinot, with very good finishing clarity and length and no obvious tannins. -- Josh Raynolds

2012 Gypsy Canyon Trois Pinot Noir

Sta. Rita Hills 91points

(50% new oak): Vivid red. A seductive, highly perfumed nose displays pure strawberry and raspberry aromas, along with hints of blood orange, cola and white flowers. Silky red and dark berry flavors are brightened by tangy acidity and a bitter orange peel accent. Picks up a hint of spice cake on the gently tannic finish, which is taut, balanced and long. I like this pinot's light touch. -- Josh Raynolds

2012 Gypsy Canyon The Collector's

Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills 92 Points

Bright ruby-red. Black raspberry, cherry and smoky Indian spice aromas show very good clarity and a sexy potpourri nuance.  Fleshy and expansive, offering appealingly sweet red and dark berry flavors and a suave note of candied rose. Shows excellent focus and lift and finishes on a lively red berry note, with strong thrust and floral persistence. -- Josh Raynolds
